| From the very second I played Bleed The Dream's "Killer Inside" on my iPod, I was almost positive about two things. First, “Shit, I think I blew these headphones.” Secondly, that was Bleed The Dream was ready and waiting to blow you away with their sound whether you were ready or not. The strong punk-rock influence displayed on Killer Inside gives me the impression that, this is the sound they were trying to achieve on Built By Blood, and this is most definitely a compliment.
The strong sound I spoke of above has to deal with a lot of different components all piecing together to create this magnificent display of musicianship. The instrumentalism displayed on the record is impeccable. Not only is the precision used when playing it great, but the diversity from track to track lets you know that Bleed The Dream is not here to play the same song thirteen times with small variances. This combined with the great range of vocals combined with the lyricism put into the music provides for an overall great punk-rock experience. Another asset to the record is that they don’t just start or end on a strong point, but that the musical ability and prowess is displayed fluently throughout the record making it hard to find a hole in the record (except for in the middle when you put it in your CD player, stupid). Some of the themes of tracks from the record are packed with a more darker-side and/or emotional meaning while one, Vampires (Don't Kill For The Money) tells of the story of none other than being crushed by love.
Overall, I was definitely impressed with the musicianship displayed on Killer Inside. The diversity in their music provides a great listen for any listener and it is this attribute right here that I will credit to them and also my warrant as to why I expect to see these guys in the spotlight soon. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the guys of Bleed The Dream and go pick up a copy of Killer Inside, which drops April 10th. Oh, one more thing: make sure to bring an extra set of headphones.
